Welcome to the CD "Prevention and Treatment of Nosocomial Infections in Abdominal Surgery". This CD is an updated version of the multimedia resource that was used for the First Russian-Swedish course Diagnostics, prophylaxis and treatment of surgical infections in abdominal surgery (Sep 30 � Oct 4, 2002, Saint-Petersburg). Some of the materials from that course could be found on this CD (see table of contents) under an appropriate heading. The current version of the CD is developed for the second Russian-Swedish Course Prevention and treatment of infectious complications in colorectal surgery (Beresta Palace Hotel, Novgorod, February 5-7, 2004).

On the CD you may find the courses materials (including lectures and case presentations) and some reference materials we collected. This is not an exhaustive resource, of course, but we hope you will find it helpful.

Using the CD is easy. All the materials are listed on the table of contents page, and all the lectures/cases have the hypertext links in the courses time-tables. To view (or print, or both) the documents you will need a browser (you have one already, since you are able to read this text) with the Adobe Acrobat Reader and Macromedia Flash Player.
